My Review
Rating: 9/10
I picked this book up after the 1,000,004th “you’ve gotta read this.” I was not disappointed as a work of fiction it took me high, it brought me low and most importantly it got me thinking outside the box. The author wrestled with some difficult concepts and in my opinion did a good job.
The detractors of the book seem to lock in on some twisting of theological dogma and the best arguments are that this book paves a slippery slope. Maybe, but come on guys – it’s a work of fiction and purports to be nothing else. It’s not a primer on theology but it does a pretty good job of getting the wheels turning. After all what’s the point anyway, to get a “t” crossed and “i” dotted or to love God with all our hearts, minds and souls?
This book got me thinking and I like that.
